Ack! No writing today. And, I lost some words in edits. (I edit as I go along, then go back again and edit more.)

But I had an enjoyable lunch hour with a great friend. Margaret is actually my brainstorming buddy. We don't brainstorm much now, though. We don't see each other as much.
About 7 or 8 years ago, Margaret and I decided to get fit and we started walking after work. Our offices are barely a block from each other and the area is full of sidewalks in a park-like setting. When you walk with someone, you talk. The more we talked, the more I realized I missed writing. I had stopped writing when I entered high school. Traded the pen for the stage and loved every minute of drama class. Yet being an actress wasn't practical and when I met the love of my life, I decided I didn't want to go to New York or Hollywood as I planned. (Thank God!)
Anyway, Margaret and I would meet after work, walk a couple of miles, and talk up whatever story I had in my head. She was my very first reader and continues to be a person I trust with my stories, even in their young stages. She's an avid reader of more than romance, so her opinion matters a lot.

I had an ACK day today, too... I didn't get any writing done, at all. And I probably won't get any done tonight. Still have some critiquing to do, and need to put up a blog post. Wish that counted. :-)
There's always tomorrow!! :-)
Well, I started the new scene I'm adding to chapter two after being stumped for about 3 days. I would figure out how to move on when my kids returned from their grandma's house.
My biggest supporter is my husband. He's quietly supportive and keeps the kids away from me when I need to write. He looks at my work (even though he really doesn't want to) and attends writing banquets with me. He picks up the slack around the house allowing me to attend monthly writer meetings and chip out writing time when my calendar is already full. He's the best.
I have a lot of supporters--my family included. This is a tough, lonely thing we do, and it's great to have people to talk to. Margaret sounds like a great gal to have behind you, Christy.
Dianna and Lindi, I think if I didn't have my family behind me as well I wouldn't be as far as I am.
Lol, Rebecca - I wish blogging counted too ;)
