Inspiring You - Days 9 & 10

It's been a busy week...

Hubby has been away on a fishing trip he claims is a lot of work. Yeah, right....

Hon, you are fishing, something you love to do. It may be a lot of work, but it isn't work.

I've been doing a lot of work, at work, and managing to do some laundry here and there while somehow managing to get the kids bathed, homework done and gulping down coffee at certain intervals of the day to keep myself going...
Have I done any more writing?

NO!

And this has got to stop!!!

No proposals or contest entries have been mailed out.

I do not like all work and housework days with no writing involved.

This week, I plan to turn over a new leaf. I must rise early. I must stop emails/blogging/facebook/twittering at a certain time so that my time can be put to good use. No more wasted days. No more feeling sorry for myself that not only did I get a rejection from writing this week but also one at my place of business.

I refuse to put my head down.

The chin will remain up and I will continue onward.

Rejection is simply God's redirection and His plan is a whole lot better than mine.

So here are my stated goals for this week:  1) Mail off the proposal to the Agent who requested it from this year's conference.  2) Finish the synopsis/story draft for this book (I'm not writing chapters, I'm trying to outline the book from start to finish... should be doable).  3)Possibly mail off the Golden Heart Entry.
4) Possibly apply for PRO with RWA.

My possible goals may not be accomplished this week. Items 1 and 2 are most important.

What about you? Where are you and what are your goals for this upcoming week.  Let's make Saturday our new week...

Christy,
thanks again for posting this Inspiring You! I'm sorry about the rejections, but keeping your chin up is the way to go.
I didn't meet my goals last week. I'm going to restate them here.
1. Write at least 1166 words a day, except Sunday,
My deadline, (self-imposed) is now pushed to the first Saturday in November. :( I wanted to be done in October.
2. Like you, I want to get up earlier and write before I go to work. I'm so much more creative in the a.m. it seems.
3. Today, (Saturday) I'm going to try and make up for some of the words I missed last week.

Where's Dianna? I hope you are feeling better.

Y'know what I do that helps? I use the online stopwatch and set the amount of time I'm going to spend on email, and then when the timer goes off, I start it up and write for 15 minutes. Then I go back to email if I have to. But I time everything now.

Otherwise, the time gets away from me.

It definitely helps me get some writing done every day. And for every 15 minutes I spend online reading blogs or being on Facebook, I make myself write for 15 minutes. It's a good trade-off.

Well, ladies, I'm still here. Not really getting better but I've got to channel some of Christy's determination. My goal is to get something done, anything really, just to get back into the writing habit. I'm caught up at work- now it's time to catch up with my writing.

Okay, I just wrote 6107 today!!!! I'm over halfway done with this stupid (loverly) book. :-) So excited.

Here's my progress so far, then:

11566/50000

That's not bad. Not great, but not bad. I think I've almost made up for my slacking early in the week.

I'm so excited you're doing this acctability challenge again, Christy. SO helpful for me!!!!

I hope we all get tons more writing done next week!!

Rebecca 6107 for a day! Yeah!!
I only did 2598. :( But it's 2598 more than I had.
I'm not sure if I could ever write 6K in one day.
But we're all different. I think Lynn Rush write 10K in a day sometimes.
Hmmm...

Oh, and I have an hour and half before I get ready for church. I'm going to see what I can do then. I didn't really want to write on Sunday afternoons, but maybe, if I'm in the groove I will.

Oh wow...accountability?! Okay, I only wrote 1215 last week. Okay, so I'm jumping in here too.
1. I will mail off my partial the editor who requested it from this year's conference this week.
2. I will complete my board for my new book (I'm a visual person, so my outline is more like a chart on a posterboard)
3. I will try to post on this blog site at least every other day. I'm afraid of commitments, so I can't say every day.

And Christy! You can do it !Cheers for you!

Congratulations Lindi, Rebecca & Sherrie! Woo-Hoo!!!!! Dianna, I'm glad you're still hanging in there!

Good goals set this week. I am tweaking mine. I heard from one agent I'd sent to and she needs an exclusive, so I will not be mailing the 3rd Agent proposal at this time.

That's a good thing, I can go back to concentrating on the story. And, send the GH entry!

Finalist!

I've always enjoyed reading historical novels. As a child I actually imagined living in the mid 1800s. My grandmother fed my imaginatio...
