Keep Me Accountable - Day 6

I've missed a few days of blogging writing progress. Unfortunately, today's report isn't any better. I'm in a mess of plotting and reworking Chapter 1 and finding I need more time than just an hour to work (that includes email/blogs/writing.)  Let me try to cram everything into that hour, plus a little dishwashing and clothes washing. Ah!  And, I just haven't been in the mood to get up at 4am lately.... 4:53 maybe, but that's 50 minutes I could've written - or done some of that other stuff ;)

This is a senseless post and I'm really just here to state my word count so you all can give feed back on yours.

Current word count 3,165.  Goal: 80,000

I hope you've had a better week than me. How do you push over your slumps???

Christy-I'm with you. Must be this darkness in the a.m.. It just doesn't seem right to get up when it's so dark--for 3 hours! I'm in the process of making a writing schedule--certain Saturdays-maybe Mon and Wed nights---I don't do well at night, but I think I'm going to give it a try. I've given myself a deadline--so I'll see how THAT works.

Sometimes I think I'm not going OVER the slump--but I'm working THROUGH it--one stinking word at a time--one blog post at a time-one jotted down idea-filled note page at a time. :)

Great advice, Lindi!

Today I did some quick research and managed to begin a new scene. My current word count is 3443. I actually deleted some things as well. I'm glad the words are growing.

Like you, I'm not a good writer at night. I'm back to taking my laptop with me to work at lunch and I hope to begin a habit with that.

Good luck on your new writing schedule.

Just when I think I have a schedule something happens to throw me off schedule. I think the key is to be consistent in finding time to write whether it's the same time of day or not. Everybody has last minute events that happen and family's that thow curve balls into plans, but as long as we're consistently pushing forward, then we're following God's plan for our writing. Easier said than done, I know.

Hi all--wanted to check in and say I had an okay writing Saturday-I reread my ms--what I have written--and was surprised at some of the scene I forgot--I took a scene out--way to early in the game for that-and found a new fun angle--I did manage to get 900 words written as well--but I think the best thing that came out of the day was that I seem to have revived my zest and zeal for the story--I think I thought it was so bad--because I forgot about those scenes---anyway, there is a whole lot said to having chunks of time to work. I have got to find more of those.

Christy--yeah on the research and adding to the word count---

Dianna--you're right about the 'schedule.' So much can make it change--you have to have the I-want-to-do-thisness to rearrange on a moments notice. :)

Glad to see everyone is still forging ahead! Somehow I made my word count! Whew, it was a struggle this weekend! Still not sure how it happened but glad it did :)

Finalist!

I've always enjoyed reading historical novels. As a child I actually imagined living in the mid 1800s. My grandmother fed my imaginatio...
