Anything goes in this challenge.
I'm making the rules and I think as long as we fill up a blank page, we will count toward our total word count. I keep thinking I can't revise a blank page. I can't revise a blank page.
I just added a scene to my current manuscript that I'd written several months ago. It's a flirting scene between my Hero and Heroine. I will have to revise the scene to fit into the location and current situation of this book - because things have changed since I actually wrote the scene! Again, this goes back to having something within the body of the book to simply work with. I've labeled it the Kitchen scene and inserted a page break so that I know it is separate from the rest of the book.
This may appear I'm cheating, but like I said at the beginning of this post - anything goes. Cheat away! As long as you have something on the page - whether it's a lot of telling, or it's a scene you want to happen between the characters but don't have a "place" for it yet, just put it in there! Add to your word count and be encouraged that you just wrote something!
So, here I am... I cheated. But my word count is now 2,702. I'm making progress toward that 80,000 goal!
How are you doing? Cheated any?

That's good advice Christy. And maybe whatever scenes are written won't even make it into the book, but could spark another novel later :) So write away! I did good this week, trying to write 1k per day. I should hit 10k today! I'm working toward 60-70k and then editing :)
How is it cheating when you're adding words and making progress? I don't think so, but if it helps you to see it that way...go ahead. I'm all for it.
Eva- you rock! Keep pushing.
Just worked on my series proposal- added about 300 words- most of which will be edited back down. And I worked on a scene that I was adding into my current WIP, which increased my current word count by about 670 words. Not enough, but I'm not done yet. (Well, maybe done tonight, but still pushing on revisions.)
Eva--way to go. I like you goal 1K a day. Hey, it rhymes!!
Dianna--keep on girl! You are doing all kinds of things--proposals and scenes. Awesome.
I didn't add word count this weekend. But I did do all my blog posts for my personal blog. So I think that was about 3k? Ha!!! But at least it's done. I"m really trying to build a blog presence--so I'm posting Monday-Friday.
Christy--Yeah!!! I know those words will help in so many ways, so they count.
Can't wait to see what we all do this week!
Great job, Eva! I can't remember, but are you juggling another job besides writing? 1k a day is a good goal so keep us posted! And, I want to talk about your new book coming out, so keep me posted on that as well.
Yay, Dianna! You've got a lot of things you're working on right now and I'm so excited that you are tackling all of them!
Lindi - that's great you've already got your blog posts written. That'll free up your week for writing on your WIP! I admire that you had ideas to blog about already laid out. Good job!
Yay, Christy! You're doing great. I'm still staring at the blank page. However, I am closer to choosing a new wall color for my foyer, living room, and dining room. Oh, and I've been cooking up a storm. Yes, the story is still simmering, but I think it's fixing to boil.
Keep letting it simmer Mindy!
Oh, and I'd love for you to come paint my house while you're at it. Our paint project is a WIP for sure!
Christy, I'd be happy to come paint if it meant I got to see you. When should I be there?
LOL. Anytime! hop a plane and come on!
